From Home Learning to Great Adventures: Jenny & Oliver Return!

Children learn in many different ways. Some learn by reading books, some by building things with their hands, and others by heading outdoors and experiencing the world around them. The A Day with… series was created to celebrate that idea: learning through curiosity, imagination, family life, and adventure.

What began as two individual stories has now grown into something bigger. Jenny and Oliver are back — and this time they’re heading on their biggest adventure yet.

It All Began with Jenny

In A Day with Jenny: The Home-Educated Child, we spend a day following Jenny through her world of learning and discovery. Jenny doesn’t rush through bells, classrooms, or strict timetables. Her learning can happen anywhere: in the kitchen while measuring ingredients for biscuits, in the library while investigating history, in the garden while exploring nature, or through conversations with the people around her.

Her story shows that learning can be found almost everywhere if you know where to look. Jenny's curiosity turns ordinary moments into exciting discoveries, reminding children that asking questions is often the beginning of the greatest adventures.

Then Came Oliver

In A Day with Oliver: The Home-Educated Hero, we meet someone with a very different personality.

Oliver's world is energetic, messy, adventurous, and full of hands-on experiences. One minute he's building a fizzing volcano in the kitchen, and the next he's heading into the woods to learn survival skills with his dad.

He learns by doing.

Camping, nature journals, outdoor exploration, and discovering practical skills become part of his everyday learning experience. Oliver proves that education doesn't only happen at desks — sometimes it happens beside campfires and woodland trails.

And Now... The Adventure Continues

Now the two worlds collide in: A Day with Jenny & Oliver – Their Trip to Torrent Castle & Danger Park

Several years have passed since we first met Jenny and Oliver, and readers finally get to see them together on a special day trip that they've been planning for over a year.

What starts as a simple visit soon becomes something much more.

  • Ancient castles.

  • Hidden clues.

  • Treasure trails.

  • Forgotten tunnels.

  • Mysterious legends.

  • And perhaps even a few ghosts...

As Jenny and Oliver explore Torrent Castle, they discover towering battlements, medieval armour, hidden stories, dark dungeons, and whispers of lost treasure buried somewhere within the castle walls. But this isn't simply a story about a castle.

  • It's about friendship.

  • It's about imagination.

  • It's about learning through experiences.

  • And it's about seeing how curiosity can transform an ordinary day into something unforgettable.

More Than Just Children's Stories

The A Day with… books are designed to be enjoyable stories while quietly encouraging children to think, ask questions, and explore the world around them.

History, nature, creativity, practical skills, friendship, and family life all become part of the adventure. Because sometimes the most important lessons aren't found inside classrooms. Sometimes they are found inside castles. Sometimes in forests. And sometimes hidden in the middle of an ordinary day.
